Tests have confirmed that a leopard in Thailand died of the same bird flu virus that has killed at least 20 people in Asia.
The leopard, from a zoo 40 miles west of Bangkok, died several days after suffering from breathing problems.
A tiger at the same zoo is said to be recovering from the deadly virus.
Thai authorities also said today that there have been recurrences of the virus in birds in eight provinces in Thailand and a fresh outbreak in another.
