Search continues at site of Iran quake

Officials in the south eastern region of Iran which was struck by an earthquake on Friday say that more than 30,000 people are thought to have died as a result of the tremor.

Hopes are fading of finding survivors in the city of Bam, but the authorities have said they will continue searching until they are sure no one will be found alive.

Twenty-two thousand people have been confirmed dead so far, and tens of thousands of people displaced by the earthquake are spening their third night in the open.

Earlier, three people were killed when their helicopter crashed after delivering aid to the affected region.
