16 killed in west Iraq car bomb attack

At least 16 people were killed and dozens wounded when a car bomb ripped through a police station in western Iraq today

Black smoke billowed over the police station in Khalidiyah, 60 km west of Baghdad, as ambulances rushed to the scene and evacuated casualties to the town of Ramadi.

The bomb was the latest in a string of attacks on Iraqi police and other targets seen as co-operating with the US-led occupation. Scores of Iraqis have been killed.
