Eight Afghans killed in US attack

It has emerged that six children and two adults have been killed in another attack by US-led forces in Afghanistan.

A military spokesman told a news briefing in the capital, Kabul, that the air and ground attack was carried out at the weekend on a compound used to store weapons in Paktia province, in the southeast of the country.

The six children were found dead later.

The news is likely to be a further embarrassment to the US forces, who killed nine children in a bungled air strike on Saturday.
