Aer Rianta legislation plan confirmed

The Tánaiste Mary Harney has confirmed that legislation on the break-up of Aer Rianta into three separate airport companies is expected to be brought to the Cabinet before Christmas.

Earlier, the Labour Party leader, Pat Rabbitte, withdrew comments he made in the Dáil yesterday about the Minister for Transport, Séamus Brennan.

During an exchange on Aer Rianta, Deputy Rabbitte threatened to ask what the Minister had been given by the chief executive of Ryanair, Michael O'Leary.

This morning, Deputy Rabbitte said his words could be interpreted in a way in which he had not intended.
