Ten people are reported to have been killed in new wildfires near the city of San Diego in south California.
Major fires are raging in at least four locations, with more than 100,000 acres already burned.
At least 350 homes have been destroyed.
A state of emergency has been declared and mandatory evacuations are taking place in communities east of Los Angeles.
