An alliance of doctors and local politicians said they will continue to campaign for radiotherapy services for the south-east, despite the Government's decision to locate services in centres in Dublin, Cork and Galway.
The Cancer Care Alliance was publicly supported by a dissenting member of the Expert Group on Radiotherapy Services, who said he disagreed with the findings of the Expert Group.
Waterford-based surgeon, Gordon Watson, said patients in the south-east were not receiving equal treatment with patients from Dublin.
