Four people have lost their lives in three separate road accidents.
In Co Clare, two young women were killed and three other people injured when the car in which they were travelling crashed near Carrigaholt at around 9pm tonight.
The injured, who are believed to be in their teens, have been taken to hospital.
A 58-year-old man died when his car crashed into a wall in Newmarket Co Cork at around 7pm.
Earlier, a 26-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle was in collision with a lorry at Coolanoran, Ardagh, in Co Limerick.
