Aer Lingus silent over dispute cost

Aer Lingus has refused to reveal the cost to date of the cabin crew dispute.

So far the airline has been forced to hire in eight fully-crewed aircraft to replace flights cancelled due to the dispute.

A spokesperson said they had no comment on the cost, but that the airline would do whatever it took to maintain a normal service and minimise disruption to passengers.

The airline has said it has been forced to cancel two flights to London City Airport tomorrow because of the dispute.

A spokesperson said passengers due to travel on those flights would be accommodated on flights to London Heathrow.

The airline is not expecting any other disruption to its normal schedule tomorrow.

A spokesperson for the cabin crews' union, IMPACT, said that there were no plans to escalate the work to rule at present.

Labour Court talks aimed at resolving the dispute over pay and productivity broke down last Friday. At present, no further talks are scheduled.
