Iran has said that a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency will arrive in the country later this week for further talks on the country's nuclear programme.
The IAEA had given Iran until the end of next month to provide evidence that it was not trying to produce nuclear weapons.
The US and Russian presidents earlier called on Iran and North Korea to stop their suspected nuclear weapons programmes.
Russia's President Vladimir Putin said they wanted to send 'a clear but respectful signal to Iran' to increase its co-operation with the IAEA, which oversees nuclear non-proliferation.
US President George W Bush said the two leaders shared a common goal: 'to make sure that Iran doesn't have any nuclear weapon or a nuclear weapons programme'.
Mr Bush was speaking during a two-day summit with the Russian leader at Camp David, outside Washington.
