Anti-waste charge campaigners held protests in Dublin this afternoon in what organisers say is an escalation of the protests against bin charges.
Protests were held at a number of locations and gardai say they all passed off without incident.
Yesterday the Socialist Party TD Joe Higgins and Councillor Clare Daly were each jailed for one month after breaching an injunction granted to Fingal County Council barring them from taking part in the bin charge protests.
