Mayo County Council says all major bridges and roads in the vicinity of last night's landslide in the county are now passable with care.
Power has been restored in the area at Pollothomas near Belmullet and emergency crews are expected to continue work through the night.
A senior Garda officer has said it was a miracle no one was killed or injured during the landslide.
Superintendent Tony McNamara said a number of elderly people were taken to hospital for observation.
Local people have praised the work of the emergency services through the night and today. The clean-up operation is expected to take several days.
The landslide happened at around 10.00pm last night, following heavy rain.
