A French appeals court has rejected Ryanair's application to delay a ruling that a commercial agreement with the operators of Strasbourg airport was illegal and must stop on 24 September.

A French tribunal ruled in July that payments from Strasbourg Chamber of Commerce to Ryanair in the form of advertising for its London to Strasbourg route, amounted to improper subsidies.

Ryanair suspended its services on the route last month and two weeks ago it announced it would replace the route by flying to Germany's Baden Baden airport, 40km from Strasbourg.
