Health board officials say they are investigating more possible cases of the food poisoning organism E Coli, which may be linked to an award winning Dublin restaurant.
Health board officials want to contact patrons of O'Connells, in Ballsbridge, which has closed temporarily due to a suspected outbreak there.
The Eastern Regional Health Authority has confirmed that the restaurant, at Bewley's Hotel, closed voluntarily last Wednesday after investigations suggested it may be associated with the bug.
Anyone who ate in the restaurant between 22 July and 22 August and suffered symptoms of food poisoning is asked to contact the ERHA for medical advice.
Symptoms of E coli include vomiting, diarrhoea and severe abdominal pain.
A spokesperson for the ERHA said five confirmed cases of E coli 0157 and two probable cases had been identified over the past two weeks. All those affected have made a full recovery.
According to the health organisation there were indications of a possible link between the recent cases and eating in O'Connells.
The award winning restaraunt seats 230 people. It is believed several thousand people dined there during the two-week period under investigation. It is not clear when the restaurant will reopen.
