Fresh fighting breaks out in Liberia

Fresh fighting has broken out near Liberia's second city of Buchanan, as caretaker President Moses Blah tries to cement a peace deal to end 14 years of bloodshed.

Thousands of civilians have left their homes and are travelling along the main road leading from the rebel-held port city to the capital, Monrovia.

Fighting inside the capital has died down since West African peacekeepers, backed by US Marines, were deployed earlier this month.

However, fighting is continuing in other parts of the country.
