Leitrim is to get its first set of traffic lights.
From next month the county's first lights will be controlling the traffic flow at the Leitrim Road junction in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Bill Lowe, Acting Director of Services with Leitrim County Council, says there had been problems with traffic flow at peak times.
The council also plans to install pedestrian lights at the bridge where the N4 bypasses the town.
