The Ulster Defence Association has announced that it is reviewing its ceasefire.
It said the ceasefire remained intact at present.
The paramilitary group said it has become disillusioned with the British government's refusal to recognise the UDA ceasefire and by what it calls 'elements within the PSNI who appear determined to demonise and destabilise loyalism'.
The UDA has also warned that dissident republican activity cannot go unpunished and has called on both British and Irish governments to act in this regard.
The UDA statement was made public through representatives of the Ulster Political Research Group.
