The Veteran Cuban leader, Fidel Castro, has dismissed the European Union as an agent of America.
He made the comment in a speech in Santiago de Cuba to mark the 50th anniversary of the revolution that brought him to power.
Relations with Europe have deteriorated since June, after the EU raised the prospect of sanctions over Cuba's mass imprisonment of dissidents.
