The President of Chile, Ricardo Lagos, has arrived in Dublin for a two-day official visit.
Mr Lagos has met with President Mary McAleese and will attend a State dinner in Dublin Castle this evening.
On Friday, he will meet the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern as well as officials from Enterprise Ireland.
Mr Lagos will then travel onto Britain, and subsequently Canada.
