NATO defence ministers meeting in Brussels have agreed a reduction of up to 40% of its military bases.
The reduction is part of a strategy to remodel the alliance to tackle new global security threats.
NATO says the reduction in bases will make it more agile.
Today's meeting is the first significant discussion by Nato ministers since the Iraq war, when there were sharp differences between alliance members.
