Taoiseach on visit to Finland and Estonia

The Taoiseach was in Tallinn this afternoon for a meeting with the Estonian PM, Juhan Parts. Earlier, he met the Finnish Prime Minister, Anneli Jaatteenmaki, in Helsinki.

The meetings are part of a series of visits to EU member states and the accession countries in the run-up to Ireland's presidency of the EU Council during the first half of next year.

In Helsinki, following a news conference, Mr Ahern visited the LE Eithne, which is on a goodwill visit to the Baltic region.

He was expected to leave the Estonian capital at 5pm Irish time, to return to Dublin.
