Gardaí have named the cyclist killed in a road accident in Co Cavan yesterday as 26-year-old Kevin Tuomey, of Garrysallagh, Mountnugent, Co Cavan.
The accident happened when Mr Tuomey was struck by a car at Roebuck, on the Mountnugent to Oldcastle Road, at about 10.00pm last night.
His body was removed to Cavan General Hospital.
A 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene for suspected drink driving and detained at Cavan Garda station. He was later released and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
