Eight dead after extremist attack in Algeria

Eight people have been killed by Islamic extremists in an attack in Algeria. Reports say the attack took place 125 miles west of Algiers.

Meanwhile, the death toll in last Wednesday's devastating earthquake has reached more than 2,000.

Nine thousand were injured. Rescue workers have said that at least 1,000 are still missing.

With little hope of finding any more survivors, attention is focusing on the plight of the 15,000 people made homeless, and the risk of disease.
