The Sinn Féin president, Gerry Adams, tonight told a party rally in Belfast's Hall, that the peace process was in deep trouble.
Speaking to several hundred supporters, Mr Adams said there is now a struggle between those who want to maximise political change and those who want to minimise it.
He said the primary responsibility to deal with the political vacuum lay with the British prime minister.
