North Korea hints at possible dialogue

North Korea has said it is prepared to consider any form of dialogue with the US over its suspected nuclear arms ambitions.

However, a spokesperson for the authoritites in North Korea said the dialogue was contingent on Washington being prepared to change its policy towards Pyongyang 'courageously'.

North Korea has hitherto repeatedly insisted on bilateral talks rather than the multilateral talks that Washington favours.

A spokesman for Pyongyang said they had demanded direct talks to gauge US sincerity.

But he added that if the US was willing to courageously change its policy towards North Korea, the form of the dialogue would not matter.
