The bottom section of Dublin's Spire, which up to this point has been covered in plastic, has been unveiled.
While most of the 120 metre spike is silver, the bottom section has a special design, based on the human DNA and rock taken from O'Connell Street.
The temporary light at the top of the spire is still in position due to ongoing difficulties, and so it is unclear when the official opening will take place.
