The Labour Party has called for price controls to be introduced on the drinks trade, following reports that the price of a pint is to rise by 10 cent.
The Labour Party's Consumer Affairs spokesperson, Kathleen Lynch, claimed this was the third price increase in little over a year, and was symptomatic of a society where the cost of living is spiralling out of control.
She said the Government was betraying Irish consumers by not taking responsibility for controlling prices in industries that make immense profits.
