CSA-Czech Airlines has announced it will be operating a new service from Cork Airport to Prague from April.
Beginning on 13 April, there will be four flights a week between the two cities. The service will operate all year round using Boeing 737-500 aeroplanes that can carry up to 160 passengers.
The company already operates eight flights a week from Dublin.
It says it has decided to include Cork on its schedule because of the growing demand in the south from tourists and, in particular, business travellers for easy access to Eastern Europe.
The Cork Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the announcement and says it will be a big boost for the business community in the region.
