Six asylum seekers have broken out of a detention centre in southern Australia after a group attacked security guards and prised open a wire fence to help them escape.
Two security guards were taken to hospital with chest and leg injuries.
The six who escaped from the Woomera detention centre were three Iranians, two Afghans and an Iraqi.
All were failed asylum seekers who had exhausted the appeal process.
Immigration officials said the breakout was premeditated and very deliberate.
