Cherie Blair has made an emotional response to a series of allegations about her dealings with a convicted fraudster.
Speaking in public for the first time since the allegations emerged, the wife of the British Prime Minister said she realised she had made two mistakes.
She said one was in her response to newspaper questions and the other was in allowing someone she barely knew and indeed had not then met, to get involved in her family's affairs.
Mrs Blair has been the focus of intense media attention during the past week following allegations that she had bought property from Peter Foster and had tried to intervene in deportation proceedings against him.
