The Minister for Health is to bring proposals to the Dáil before the end of the year on a new Inquiry into the actions of international drug firms blamed for infecting most haemophiliacs here with HIV and Hepatitis C.
Speaking at the end of a Dáil debate on the Lindsay Tribunal report Mícheal Martin said he believed it would be possible to mount a "useful investigation" into the pharmaceutical companies.
Earlier, Opposition deputies accused the tribunal of failing to fully investigate the scandal, which has resulted in the deaths of 79 people.
