Pat Rabbitte is the new leader of the Labour Party.
He was elected on the second count, following the elimination of Eamon Gilmore and Roisin Shortall.
The second count result was:Pat Rabbitte 1587 (45.63%) + 541 = 2128Brendan Howlin 1005 (29.89%) + 306 = 1311Eamon Gilmore 598 (17.19%)Roisin Shortall 282 (7.53%)
In the election for Deputy leader, the first count tally showed Willie Penrose with 33%, Liz McManus on 30%, Joan Burton with 24.4% and Joe Costello at 12.6%.
That count was still in progress at 11.00pm.
