A 22-year-old man has been charged with the murder of the man whose body was discovered in a derelict house in Midleton in Co Cork last night.
Mark Allingham, of Fr Murphy Place in Midleton, appeared before a special sitting at the District Court this evening, charged with the murder of Gerald Hackett, on a date between 17 and 21 October at the Rock, Midleton.
Judge Michael Pattwell granted free legal aid and remanded Allingham in custody to Cork Prison, to appear again before the District Court at Fermoy on Friday.
