Fine Gael has decided to reverse its ban on corporate donations unless the Government agrees to replace financial support from business with state funding.
Party leader, Enda Kenny, said it would be impossible for Fine Gael to compete on a level playing pitch unless this happens.
At a two-day meeting in Westport, the parliamentary party adopted the recommendations of an internal strategy group which suggested a number of changes in order to create a more professional and effective party.
These included a new management structure headed by a new political director, the sale of the party's headquarters and a new Dublin task force to reverse FG's decline in the capital.
