The Taoiseach has reiterated that he has never received a bribe in his life.
Bertie Ahern was responding to comments by Ireland on Sunday journalist, Frank Connolly.
Mr Ahern said that a judge found that he had been defamed after he sued Mr Denis O'Brien over allegations that he had received money from the Cork businessman.
He said the court had found that he had received neither a cheque nor cash from Mr O'Brien and that the bank account involved had not existed.
Meanwhile the Fianna Fáil Comhairle Dáil Ceanntar for Dublin North has issued a statement on the corruption controversy surrounding the former Minister and constituency TD, Ray Burke.
It said that, at a meeting last night, the Ceanntar noted with sadness and disappointment the interim findings of the Flood Tribunal, particularly with reference to Mr Burke.
However the organisation said it wished to make no further comment, at this stage, which might impact on any further legal proceedings that might arise.
