A former Taliban diplomat has claimed Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar are still alive in Afghanistan.
"Osama is alive and perfectly alright," said the Taliban's former first secretary at the Afghan embassy in the United Arab Emirates.
Nasser Ahmad Roohi told journalists at a secret location in Peshawar, northwest Pakistan that bin Laden and the former Taliban leader are still in touch.
He said that he met Mullah Omar in Afghanistan 15 days ago to receive instructions.
Bin Laden and Omar have not been found despite a huge search by US and allied forces throughout Afghanistan and neighbouring Pakistan.
