A leading loyalist paramilitary has been charged with gun offences following a major security operation in the North.
Twenty five year old Andre Shoukri, who is leader of the Ulster Defence Association in north Belfast, was arrested along with another man after police stopped a car in the Rathcoole estate in Newtownabbey.
A semi-automatic pistol and ammunition were seized.
Shoukri, who is also known by the nickname 'the Egyptian', will appear at Belfast Magistrates Court tomorrow.
