The European Commission is reported to have cut its growth forecast for the Eurozone this year to 1.0 percent from 1.4 percent.
The German business newspaper, Boersen-Zeitung, said Brussels attributed the downward revision to the much weaker than expected pickup in activity in the second quarter.
The EU executive body is scheduled to publish its latest economic forecasts in November.
