The Southern Regional Fisheries Board has said it has reached an agreement in a dispute with fishery officers, following discussions with the Labour Relations Commission.
Three fishery officers had been suspended for refusing to drive vehicles with the Fisheries Board logo on them. They claimed this could leave them open to risk of attack.
Thirty officers had voted for strike action on the issue.
Under the agreement, it is understood that IBEC and the Congress of Trade Unions have been asked to appoint a joint independent team to carry out a risk assessment on the health and safety issues involved.
The industrial action by SIPTU has been called off and the three suspended officers have been reinstated.
