Rescuers in Iran are searching through tons of rubble for survivors of yesterday's earthquake, which killed more than 500 people.
At least 2,000 people were injured in the quake, which hit the Qazvin province in the north-west of the country. 25,000 people are now homeless as a result of the tremor, which measured more than 6.0 on the Richter scale.
US President George W Bush has offered to send humanitarian aid, despite having branded the country as part of a worldwide "axis of evil" for allegedly sheltering terrorists.
