Negotiating teams from Fianna Fáil and the Progressive Democrats will continue to draft a programme for government over the weekend.
The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has said he doesn’t see any insurmountable differences between Fianna Fáil and the PDs on the programme.
He was speaking after a two-hour meeting with the Tánaiste and PD leader, Mary Harney.
He confirmed that there has been areas where they had to resolve differences and that had now been done. Earlier, the Taoiseach confirmed that one of the differences was on the Campus Stadium Ireland project.
Mr Ahern added that it was now a matter of grasping and that the two negotiating teams would be doing that over the weekend.
He also confirmed that he would be meeting the Tánaiste again either on Monday or Tuesday to finalise the programme.
The Taoiseach also said he is after sending good wishes out to the Irish soccer team and to the management, ahead of tomorrow's match against Cameroon.
