The Taoiseach will begin negotiations tomorrow, with the Tánaiste and leader of the Progressive Democrats, Mary Harney on the formation of a new coalition government.
Meanwhile, the new Fine Gael parliamentary party will meet for two days this week to agree on a system for electing a new leader. The Fine Gael TD for Carlow-Kilkenny, Phil Hogan, has declared his intentions to stand for the party leadership.
