Britain's Queen Elizabeth, on the final day of her visit to the North, has attended an ecumenical service at St Anne's Cathedral in Belfast to mark her Golden Jubilee.
The Queen and Prince Philip were met on arrival by the city's Lord Mayor, Councillor Jim Rodgers, and the Dean of Belfast, Very Reverend Houston McKelvey.
The royal couple was then introduced to the leaders of the four main churches: the Church of Ireland Primate of All-Ireland and Archbishop of Armagh, Dr Robin Eames, his Catholic counterpart, Archbishop Sean Brady, the Presbyterian Moderator, Dr Alistair Dunlop, and the Methodist President, Reverend Harold Good.
Monsignor Tom Toner of St Peter's Cathedral, which has links with the Church of Ireland cathedral, was also introduced to them, as was a representative of the Salvation Army.
Around 1,000 people representing a cross-section of the community from throughout Northern Ireland are attending the service. Dr Dunlop is due to preach the sermon.
