Police in Zimbabwe have broken up a series of small demonstrations by opponents of President Robert Mugabe in the capital Harare. The protests, which had been banned by the authorities, were organised by an alliance of pro-democracy groups.
They are the first major demonstrations in Zimbabwe since President Robert Mugabe was re-elected last month.
