Palestinian gunmen have shot and killed six Israelis in an ambush near Ramallah in the West Bank. At least 22 people have been killed in 24 hours of violence in the region.
Today, a Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance to a Jewish settlement in the Jordan Valley of the West Bank. Security sources said that no one else was injured when the man detonated explosives after passengers and the driver threw him off a bus he was trying to board.
Earlier, three Palestinians were killed following an Israeli missile attack on an office of the Islamic militant group, Hamas, in the Gaza Strip. Overnight, six Palestinians were killed in separate incidents in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Three of the dead, including a woman and her daughter, were killed by tank fire during an incursion by Israeli forces near Khan Yunis. The attacks follow the killing of four Israelis in suicide attacks yesterday.
Israeli troops shot two Palestinians dead and wounded six more in the Balata refugee camp near Nablus. The soldiers entered the camp disguised as Palestinians.
In the West Bank, an Israeli F-16 missile destroyed the police headquarters in Ramallah. Israeli jets are also reported to have destroyed part of a security complex in a Palestinian refugee camp in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
