Enron executives seek replacement boss

Executives of the collapsed energy company, Enron, have begun seeking a replacement for their Chief Executive. Kenneth Lay stepped down in the midst of several federal investigations into the running of the company.

The broader investigation appears to be focusing on one main issue: the shredding of documents. Federal Agents descended on Enron's headquarters earlier this week to investigate allegations that documents had been destroyed after the government began looking into the company's collapse.

The United States Justice Department is already investigating document shredding at Enron's accountants, Arthur Anderson. Its executives are due to testify in front of a Congressional Committee on the issue later today.
