Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams said that the breakdown of the peace process in Colombia was a matter of concern. He said that the fact that there are three Irish citizens caught up in the middle of it "localised the issue" for a lot of Irish people.
He said that he feared the three men's detention was being used as a distraction to focus attention away from the difficulties in the Colombian peace process. He said that the three men should be sent home.
He said that David Andrews visit to Colombia was a very welcome development.
