The new president of Argentina says that he expects a positive international reaction to his decision to suspend debt repayments. President Adolfo Rodriguez Saa is trying to control his country's spiralling economic crisis.
Mr Saa aims to ease the poverty that led to the riots that toppled the previous government. He said that the country's social emergency was his main problem. He said that the debt payment funds would be used instead to create a million jobs and pay for food handouts.
