Opposition to call for inquiry into Barron death

The main opposition parties are to call for a tribunal of inquiry into the death of Richie Barron, who was killed in County Donegal in 1996.

Speaking on RTÉ’s This Week programme, the deputy leader of the Labour Party said that patience with internal Garda investigations was now exhausted and it was time to stop drip feeding the truth.

Brendan Howlin said that all the events surrounding Mr Barron’s death now had to be aired in a public forum.
