Amnesty International has castigated the international community for supplying the Northern Alliance with weapons. The General Secretary of human rights group, Irene Khan, said that the Alliance's leaders had blood on their hands.
Ms Khan said that nations which had already sold arms to the Alliance must share responsibility for the killing by them of Afghan civilians.
